7 years ago, when I began my journey with the School of Shamanic Midwifery* and made my first medicine drum, I went on my first ‘proper’ Shamanic Drum Journey. After meeting Wolf in the underworld, I was met by Merlin and Aphrodite in the Upper realms. Merlin was sitting strong and upright in his throne, and Aphrodite was rolling around on the floor in bliss. Since then, I have visited them quite often, and always receive exactly the guidance and wisdom I need in my life. Merlin helps me with all manner of ‘practical’ details and logistics, and even told me the exact price to offer for our house, which was accepted the next day, just as he said it would be! Aphrodite, on the other hand, has been a bit more in the background. When I’ve asked her things, she has been mostly rolling around in ecstasy and would say things casually like, “Don’t worry, just enjoy yourself,” and go back to her orgasmic bliss, which I would find slightly annoying if I was actually seeking some more tangible advice.
So… fast forward to last month. I went up to the Upper Realms and lo and behold, Aphrodite is standing next to Merlin, on his right, with her hand on his shoulder. Her stance is completely different. She told me I am ready for her guidance now, as it’s time for me to birth her work into the world. It’s funny, I deliberated on the name, asked everyone, asked my email tribe, and went back in and she confirmed very clearly without hesitation, it is to be called Awakening Aphrodite. Of course she would say that 😀 And Merlin said it’s about embodying your divinity, sexiness and magic. This was the most graceful, beautiful and guided ‘birth’ so far… all guided by the Goddess <3
